I’m Laura I. Winn, an educated and experienced freelance writer from Sacramento.

My career kicked off with passionate music articles featured in local and national publications. While studying government-journalism at Sacramento State University, I began covering everything from the inside workings of local politics to the latest innovations in the health industry.

Now, more than two decades since that first byline, my portfolio is a hodgepodge of work done for magazines, newspapers, leading websites and private businesses.

I am just as comfortable ghostwriting informative medical blogs for a doctor as I am crafting sassy content for a celebrity fashion site.

I especially love writing about my hometown and the interesting people, places and events that make Sacramento a great place to live. As a local reporter, I’ve penned stories for Sacramento News & Review, Sacramento Lifestyle Magazine, Prosper Magazine, Ricochet Magazine, Sacramento Parent Magazine, Valley Community Newspapers, Apartments.com, Examiner.com and more.

I am currently the content coordinator for Fair Oaks Living. In this role, I am responsible for putting out the hyper-local magazine each month, including writing, editing and proofing the content, as well as coordinating directly with the photographer, designer and publisher.

In all my roles, I deliver engaging, accurate and clean copy on a prompt deadline.
